Experimenting

I've been experimenting with my photography again.  I was curious to see what would happen if I sharpened an image over time.  The above is the result.  The top image is the original, while the bottom is what happened after maximum sharpening of the same image several times.  I would maximize the sharpening of the image, save it, reopen, and maximize the sharpening of the image once again.  I did this process at least 3-4 times - resulting in the above.  I'm not sure if I like it or not.  I do like how the continual sharpening effect made the photo more monotone while keeping the two blasts of color.  There is something artsy about it, and I can appreciate that.  However, I also believe I need to do more experimenting.

Boulder Stream

This is a photograph of a stream.  It use to hold lots of water - water that was run-off from the melting winter snowpack.  Now it is nothing more than a stream of boulders, and it is fantastic!  Those boulders were huge, and while I was tempted to climb down and explore a bit more... I only had time to snap a few photographs.  Absolutely amazing.

Diablo's Glacier Water

No 6 in Front

Diablo

This is a lake just outside of Diablo. The water is actually turquoise because it is glacier water. The size of the lake is emphasized by the little island on the lower, left corner of the top photograph. For the lower photograph, I used a high-power telephoto lens to get a closer view of the island.
